For my photography portfolio i have decided to do nature, in full colour. The artists that have inspired me with me work are Mark Grey, Bill Atkinson and John Shaw. They all have produced many amazing photos filled with colour, how ever the photographer who has inspired me most is Mark Grey. He has given me a great idea of colour use with in an image and how great digital photography can be for a nature topic. He has taken many different photos of lakes, trees, bushes, and even in seasons. In particular his Australian collection catches me eye most because of the beautiful use of colour with in the images, which is what i plan on using in my photographs with in me portfolio.
I really like the fact that the artists i have chosen use many different colours in their images, and make them so simple yet make the images worth so much. For example, Mark grey's images are taken digitally and are put through a photoshop program to enhance the images colours and important aspects, which makes the image sharp and clear. Bill Atkinson has a few images taken from different angles which is another thing that quite inspires me to do.
The medium i have chosen for my topic is digital photography, so i can upload my images to the computer and put them through photoshop to fix them up, add contrast and enhance the colours that will be featured in the image.
I intend on finishing my work in a black paper booklet that i will create myself, and on each page will be and image with an analysis and heading underneath printed off from the computer so it's in neat form. I will have a series of rough surfaces for example; Bark, stone and gravel. Trees will also be included as well as water and flowers. Some of the photographs will be from the city of Melbourne and in amongst suburbs i live near by. At the end page i will have a journal entry on how i created the booklet and the tasks i went through to create it. I will also research how artists write their journals to gain a better understanding on how to write one good enough to ensure i get good marks for this task.
